OUR SHARED GROUND RULES
Terms of Service
These Terms are an agreement between you and Aaron Gawronsky, an individual operating Maagal from Israel (“Maagal,” “I,” “me,” or “we”). By creating an account or using account-only services, you agree to these Terms. Read the Privacy Notice separately; acknowledging that notice is not consent to marketing or public sharing. For questions, email maagalivritevents@gmail.com.
1. Who may use Maagal
Maagal accounts are for adults. You may create an account only if you are at least 18 and at least the age of legal adulthood where you live, if that age is higher. You confirm this separately at signup. We do not currently offer an account or parental-consent process for minors. If we learn an account does not meet this rule, we may suspend or close it and take appropriate steps with related information.
2. Accounts and access
Give accurate information, keep your password and sign-in links secure, and tell us if you suspect someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity through your account, except where applicable law says otherwise. Do not share access credentials or bypass access, safety or privacy controls. We may ask you to confirm your email before using account features.
3. The service and learning limitations
Maagal offers Hebrew-learning cards and review tools, recordings, exercises, progress views, live conversation classes called Circles, and community features. Features may change, be unavailable or be discontinued. Maagal is an educational service, not a school credential, professional advice, accredited assessment or guarantee of a particular learning result.
Our recommended study prescriptions express Maagal’s educational approach. They are not scientifically validated guarantees. We do not promise fluency, proficiency, mastery or any other outcome by a deadline. Minutes studied, review counts, recording attempts, attendance and self-reported capabilities are separate measures. Minutes studied do not establish proficiency, attendance does not establish participation quality, and an “I can” statement is learner-edited and self-reported unless a feature clearly says it has been independently assessed.
4. Price and donations
At this time, Maagal does not charge for account access or Circle bookings through an in-site checkout. A separate optional “Donate” link may take you to Buy Me a Coffee or another external provider. Any donation is handled by that provider under its terms; Maagal does not receive your full payment credentials through the website. Paid subscriptions, classes or workshops are not offered under these Terms. Before any paid product is introduced, Maagal must provide applicable price, billing, cancellation and refund terms before purchase.
Circle bookings are subject to eligibility, available capacity and the booking status shown on the site. A seat is saved only when the site confirms the booking. You can cancel a seat from the Circle calendar while that occurrence is still open; the seat is released and the meeting link is hidden. Maagal may cancel a Circle date; if so, you do not need to cancel your own booking.
5. Respectful use and community safety
Use Maagal lawfully and respectfully. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate, exploit or expose another person; post unlawful, abusive, deceptive or infringing material; disrupt a class or service; scrape or attack the site; interfere with another person’s account; or use another learner’s information outside the context in which it was shared. Do not use a Circle to solicit, spam or pressure other learners.
Do not record, photograph, copy, retransmit or publish another participant’s voice, image, name or contributions from a Circle without that person’s permission and any permission required by law. A host may record a Circle after giving notice before recording starts; those recordings may be kept for up to one year and viewed only by instructors and administrators. If you do not wish to be recorded, do not attend that session and contact us about another option.
6. Your content and sharing choices
You keep ownership of content you create or submit, including private goals, explanations, plans, recordings, messages and feedback. You give Maagal a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce and display that content only as needed to provide the service, respond to your requests, protect the service and apply the sharing choice you make. This permission ends when the content is deleted or the account closes, except for copies retained as described in the Privacy Notice or required for a legal or security purpose.
Maagal does not receive a general right to publish your private goals, reuse personal recordings for promotion, or train AI models on learner content. Some features let you explicitly mark a learning pack public or unlisted, create a progress-sharing link, or opt into the approximate community map. The item is visible to the audience described when you choose that setting. You can change or revoke a setting where the feature permits, but people may keep copies they obtained before that change.
You promise you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content and to make any sharing choice you select. Do not submit another person’s private or copyrighted material without permission.
7. Maagal materials and AI tools
Maagal and its licensors own the site, learning materials, software, branding and original content. You may use them for personal learning through the service. Do not copy, sell, redistribute, publicly perform or make derivative products from Maagal materials except where the law or a written permission allows.
AI-generated language help may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased or unsuitable. Check important language, cultural or personal decisions with a qualified person. Do not rely on AI as a substitute for professional advice. Do not submit sensitive personal information to an AI tool. Third-party providers may process prompts as described in the Privacy Notice.
8. Third-party services
Maagal may link to or rely on outside services, including hosting, authentication, email, AI, geocoding, donations, dictionaries and Circle meeting platforms. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Maagal is not responsible for a third party’s service, security or decisions. A link or meeting connection does not make that provider part of Maagal.
9. Moderation, suspension and ending use
We may review reports, remove or restrict content, limit account functions, suspend or close an account, or cancel a Circle registration if reasonably necessary for safety, suspected misuse, security, legal compliance or operation of the service. Where practical, we will explain the action and provide a way to contact us about it. We may also stop or materially change any feature. You can stop using the service and request account closure by emailing us.
10. Service availability and disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Maagal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, suitable for every learner, or produce a particular result. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those places, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and any mandatory consumer rights remain in force.
11. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maagal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from your inability to use the service, a third-party provider or a learning outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maagal’s total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to Maagal for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100.
These limits do not exclude or restrict liability, consumer rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow a service provider to exclude or limit, including rights that cannot be waived in a consumer contract. Some jurisdictions do not permit particular limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes or the law requires. We will post the new version and effective date and, for material changes, provide notice through the site or email when appropriate. Where required, we will ask you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use affected account features. The version recorded at signup or later re-acceptance is the version associated with your choice.
13. Governing law and complaints
Israeli law governs these Terms, except where mandatory law in your place of residence gives you protections or rights that cannot be waived or requires another result. Courts in Israel may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory rights you have to bring a claim in your place of residence. Before starting a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
14. General
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the rest remains in effect to the extent possible. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our written permission. We may transfer the service and these Terms as part of a lawful business transfer, while continuing to protect personal information as described in the Privacy Notice.
These Terms and the Privacy Notice describe the current service and replace earlier terms about that subject. A feature-specific notice or purchase terms may add conditions for that feature or purchase; if terms conflict, the feature or purchase terms apply only to that specific service.
